Australian Federal Police Commander Grant Edwards pulled two NYPD vehicles weighing nearly 70,000 pounds (31,750 kilos) as stunned onlookers rallied around him on Tuesday, August 8.
Edwards, who will attempt a Guinness World Record later this year when he pulls a plane, frequently bears the weight on his shoulders to raise awareness about mental health, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide prevention among police officers.
According to NYPD News, Edwards will attempt to pull a military cargo plane weighing more than 400,000 pounds at Dover Air Force base later this month.
“Seeking help is not a weakness," Edwards said. "Even the strongest among us may need help,”
“My own personal experience has shown me we need to lift the stigma veil.”
