Malala Yousafzai, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and advocate for the education of girls, is officially going to the University of Oxford, reports the Washington Post.
She shared a photo of her acceptance notification on Twitter and wrote, “So excited to go to Oxford!! Well done to all A-level students — the hardest year. Best wishes for life ahead!”
Oxford had made a conditional offer to Yousafzai in March, but it hinged on her doing well on her pre-admittance A-level tests, notes the New York Times.
She will be studying at Oxford’s Lady Margaret Hall and pursing the philosophy, politics and economics degree, which according to The Guardian is “the Oxford degree that runs Britain.”
Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban in 2012 when returning home from her school in Pakistan. In the years since, she has been an active champion for the education of girls.
