Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's opening statement during his meeting with US President Donald Trump has earned brickbats from his domestic critics.

Among others, Najib said Malaysia has committed to buying 25 Boeing 737 Max 10 and eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Najib also announced that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) seeks to invest US$3 to 4 billion to support "infrastructure redevelopment in the US."
