Elon Musk revealed more Sept. 27, 2016 at his talk at the International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico.\r
According Musk new Raptor rocket engine will launch the companys planned interplanetary spaceship.\r
Raptor engine goal is specific impulse of 382 seconds and thrust of about 310 metric tons at 300 atmosphere pressure.\r
Raptor engines nozzle is about 4.3 meters or 14 feet in diameter, and engine will generate 3 million newtons of force, with a chamber pressure three times that of the Merlin engines that currently propel SpaceXs Falcon 9 rocket. \r
According Musk SpaceX is planning to launch an uncrewed Mars mission in 2018, using a Dragon space capsule and a Falcon Heavy rocket. The Interplanetary Transport System could launch humans to Mars as early as 2024 if all goes well said Elon Musk. Reusable rocket and reusable booster are piority for SpaceX developments. \r
