Warnings were issued across the Caribbean on Monday evening as Hurricane Maria gained strength and roared toward islands that is already devastated by Hurricane Irma. Maria, was earlier a category 1 storm and grew to a Category 5 hurricane Monday night. It had maximum sustained winds of 160 mph when it touched Dominica.
