United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has come to the defense of President Trump, offering favorable comments on his recent fondness for referring to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as ‘rocket man.’
"It worked...this is a way of getting people to talk about him," Haley said on Wednesday during an appearance on ABC News' Good Morning America. "Every other international community now is referring to him as 'Rocket Man'”
Trump first used the nickname on social media.
"I spoke with President Moon of South Korea last night. Asked him how Rocket Man is doing," the president tweeted Sunday.
And on Tuesday, Trump employed it while addressing the United Nations.
“The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," the president said. "Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.”
