Cancer researchers at Georgetown University want Americans to ditch tobacco and pick up a vape, instead. A study at the university showed that 6.6 million past smokers could live a combined 86.7 million years if they adopted use of e-cigarettes instead of tobacco products. David Levy, Georgetown professor E-cigarettes, or vapes, don't expose people to the harsh chemicals found in cigarettes, but Levy notes they are still just as addictive. Once e-cigarettes become FDA regulated, researchers say the devices could be more accepted as a nicotine replacement.
