Wildfires in Portugal are becoming an all-too-familiar scene.
Over 1,000 firefighters are tackling major blazes across four regions. At least four of the eleven fires that are raging are considered major, the National Civil Protection Authority reports.
Abnormally high temperatures are said to be fanning the spread, cutting off several roads and sweeping through at least one vast forested area.
One person is known to have died while tackling the fires. Over the summer, international assistance was brought in to help control numerous wildfires, which killed dozens and injured hundreds.
