Zack Hughes is a craftsman. Since the early 2000’s, he’s been tinkering with river surfing and SUP designs to make riding inland waves more fun. Because, as he puts it, “you can’t have a closed mind to fun.”

Out of his tinkering Badfish SUP, a company completely dedicated to river surfing and paddling, was born. But the craftsman in him didn’t stop there. A couple of years ago he was introduced to the Onewheel. The new board sport inspired him to create a Onewheel freeride course around his home in Salida, Colo. We caught up with Hughes, who talks with us about living the life of an inland shaper, riding Onewheels, and most important on his list, having fun.
