The announcement of the 7th Pay Commission for Tamil Nadu government employees did bring some cheer, but the happiness was short lived. Tamil Nadu government employees not get 21 month arrears as the Cabinet approved the pay hike from October 1 2027. They were hoping that it would be implemented from January 2016. However the implementation date is October 1 201 7 which means the employees will all lose 21 months of arrears.
