Today we meet Ron who has created a very cheap Off-Grid Cabin on Wheels. He wanted a Plan B back-up to his home, just in case, and to also get out and travel. But because he was in North Carolina where it was hot and humid, he demanded it must have an Air Conditioner! To avoid the nuisance factor of constant generator use, he knew it had to be able to run off of solar to be as off-grid as possible. He found a 19 foot, Terry Travel Trailer and added 1000 watts (one kilowatt) of solar on it to run his 500 BTU window air conditioner. Because NC also has fairly cold winters, he also added a wood burning stove, to be as off-grid as possible! It has worked extremely well for him, and he is delighted with the results!! Today is the interview, and in the next video we'll go inside and look around!
No matter how cheap your budget, you can learn something from this video about vandwelling and how to turn your car, van, caravan or RV into a surprisingly cheap and mobile, tiny house on wheels! Then you can live the life of your dreams by adopting a minimalist, simple and frugal life of travel and adventure as a gypsy, nomad, traveller or even a prepper by dropping out of the Rat Race and becoming a full-time Vandweller or RVerr
