A thick blanket of haze hung low over Delhi for the second day on Tuesday, as air quality levels deteriorated and visibility plunged. The Central Pollution Control Board identified four reasons for the sudden onset of pollution. Temperature, wind speed, relative humidity and atmospheric boundary layer had worsened Delhi’s air, CPCB experts said. Conditions are unlikely to improve over the next few days, they said. Meteorological conditions were such that all the local pollutants got trapped and lingered in the air. These four parameters had a direct impact on the pollution,” said D Saha, head of the air quality laboratory of CPCB.

दिल्ली में प्रदूषण का स्तर सभी हदों को पार करता जा रहा है. मंगलवार को दिल्ली में हर तरफ प्रदूषण भरे धुंध का साया देखा गया. ‘एयर क्वालिटी इंडेक्स' के अंतर्गत यह 'बेहद खराब' के स्तर से गिरकर अब 'गंभीर' (सीवियर) के स्तर पर पहुंच गया. नमी से लैस प्रदूषकों से पैदा हुई धुंध की चादर ने पूरे शहर को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया.,मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए एनजीटी ने कहा है कि दिल्ली में हालात आपातकालीन स्तर तक पहुंच चुके हैं. ट्रिब्यूनल ने यूपी, हरियाणा, पंजाब और दिल्ली की सरकारों को जरूरी कदम उठाने को कहा है. एनजीटी ने यह भी कहा है कि दिल्ली सरकार, दिल्ली प्रदूषण नियंत्रण कमिटी, एमसीडी और पुलिस यह सुनिश्चित करे कि बाजारों में प्लास्टिक बैग का इस्तेमाल न किया जाए.,इस बीच इंडियन मेडिकल एसोसिएशन (आईएमए) ने भी कहा था कि दिल्ली में जन स्वास्थ्य आपातकालीन हालात में है. स्कूल बंद कर दिए जाने चाहिए और लोगों को कम से कम बाहर निकलना चाहिए.
