Hundreds of karnataka congress workers led by party leaders including Chief minister Siddaramaiah took to the streets of Bengaluru in a protest against demonetisation. A year after note ban, congress accused the Narendra Modi led central government of inconveniencing the people of the country and held the government responsible for loss of lives and jobs. The congress took out a rally from Maurya circle to freedom park shouting slogans against demonetisation and the Modi government. Working president of the KPCC Dinesh Gundu Rao accused the BJP of laundering money in the garb of demonetisation while people of the country suffered. They sought statistics to prove outcome of note ban. While the union government has named demonetisation anniversary as anti- black money day, the congress called it a black day. Similar protests by the congress were witnessed across the country.
