I love Ultralight Backpacking & Brook Trout Fishing! Perry and I hike to Boulder Mountain's Lost Lake to see what kind of action could be had.
Nearly all the ponds and lakes have fish, since the DNR does a great job of managing the fisheries, keeping even the most popular lakes well stocked. We caught brook trout that were pan sized with salmon pink flesh, making for delicious meals of my traditional trout and potatoes backpacking dinner.
I love saving pack weight by supplementing my food by catching fresh trout and by gathering stove fuel on site for my Firebox Nano Stove.
This video shows the progression of my cooking system which led up to our current Fry-Pan Mess Kit:
We also have the new X-CASE for the Nano Stove which is both a hard case and a stand which locks the Nano's legs into position either inward for a small cup or outward for a larger pot of fry pan. It also functions as a fire pan for no trace wood fire cooking!
Here's a link to the new X-CASE:
