Is there a style that the man like Ed DMX can't turn his hand to? A scholar of 1980s electro, club and house, he has been a master at unearthing rare classics (from long before that era became standard territory for diggers) and likewise a master at reconstructing their patterns via vintage music hardware (again, long before every man-jack and his dog came over all "keep it hardware"). On his new EP for Jerome Hill's Super Rhythm Trax label, he turns his hand to raw acid, Yorkshire bleep'n'bass, and on this track, according to Hill, "Scooby Doo spooky theremin vs Dance Mania vs ragga". Which will do us very nicely indeed, thanks.
