Israeli forces detained at least nine Palestinians, including a nine-year-old boy, during raids on November 23 in the West Bank, according to Ma’an News.
The boy, named as Muhammad Ammar Daana, was seen at a checkpoint in Hebron. He was detained on his way to school, Palmedia said.
Addameer, the activist group that supports Palestinian detainees, decried the arrest. “A nine-year-old is not a terrorist; he poses no threat to the heavily armed soldier; he is but a prisoner in an elobarate system of control, [sic]” the group said on Facebook.
This footage was shared by a Palestinian journalist, Raed Abu Remalieh, based in Hebron. He said it showed the scene at the Abu Raish checkpoint, near the al-Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron. Credit: Raed Abu Remalieh via Storyful
