Former Bachelor star Chris Soules has been granted the right to remove his court-ordered ankle monitor after he was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash back in April.
According to Us Magazine, the reality TV star attended a two-hour court hearing in Iowa where he filed a motion to dismiss the felony charge.
Soules was reportedly responsible for hitting a man riding a tractor with his truck, which led to the death of the tractor driver. According to Us Magazine, Soules’ lawyers played 9-1-1 tapes for the court, and claim “He then did the morally and legally responsible thing by staying on the scene and remaining on the scene of the accident until emergency governmental authorities arrived.”
Apparently prosecutors argue that he only stayed on the scene for 14 minutes, and officers didn’t get enough time to thoroughly investigate.
The court will reportedly make their decision whether or not to dismiss the felony charge on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
