Syrian forces fired anti-aircraft missiles to thwart an attack by Israeli forces on the northwest Damascus countryside village of Jamraya, late in the night on December 4, according to pro-regime sources.

Hezbollah-affiliated media such as Al Manar and Al Mayadeen reported that Israeli forces fired six missiles, three of which were intercepted by Syria’s air defence system.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that “violent explosions shook” the city of Damascus as a result of the attack on Jamraya, which is home to Syria’s Scientific Studies and Research Center.

According to pro-regime Radio Sham FM, this video shows a surface to air missile being launched towards Israeli forces.
