Canadian firefighters came to the rescue of a dog trapped in a creek in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The dog walker had unwisely allowed the dog to roam off its leash near to the partially frozen creek. When the dog fell through the ice, the owner quickly rang the emergency services who promptly arrived and saved the pet. The fire chief is now using this as an example to warn people of the dangers that these bodies of water pose to pets and children during the winter months.
