JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar have been disqualified from the Janata Dal United. JD had lodged a complaint with the Rajya Sabha Secretariat in this regard. After this, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu took the decision to end membership of the two leaders. Significantly, after the expulsion from the party, the Sharad Yadav faction also claimed the party's election symbol arrow but they had to face defeat there too

शरद यादव एक बार फिर झटका लगा है । बिहार के सीएम नीतीश कुमार ने शरद यादव और अली अनवर को तगड़ा झटका दिया है। जेडीयू यानि कि जनता दल युनाइटेड से बगावत करने वाले नेता शरद यादव और अली अनवर की राज्यसभा से सदस्यता समाप्त कर दी गई है। जेडीयू ने इस संबंध में राज्यसभा सचिवालय के पास शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी। इसके बाद उपराष्ट्रपति वेंकैया नायडू ने दोनों नेताओं की सदस्यता समाप्त करने का फैसला लिया। गौरतलब है कि पार्टी से निकाले जाने के बाद शरद यादव गुट ने पार्टी के चुनाव चिह्न तीर पर भी दावा किया था लेकिन उन्हें वहां भी हार का सामना करना पड़ा था
