Kelly Ripa just opened up about her ongoing feud with former Live! co-host Regis Philbin!
In an interview with the New York Times, the blonde TV star spoke out about her dynamic with the hilarious 86-year-old, saying: “Regis had a mandate: Absolutely no talking off-camera.”
“He had almost a superstition about it. You save it for the show. I’d be like, ‘Good morning,’ and he’d say, ‘Save it for the air!’” added Ripa, 41.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a source caught Ripa avoiding Philbin at a cocktail party earlier this year.
“Kelly arrived early and left before Regis arrived. Since Regis left the show he has had no contact with Kelly and revealed that she hasn’t returned any of his calls,” the insider claimed.
As fans know, Philbin left Live! in 2011 after 24 seasons! He was replaced by Michael Strahan, and later by Ryan Seacrest, who Ripa said was “the future” of ABC.
After Philbin’s departure from the show, he told Larry King in an interview: “[Kelly Ripa] got very offended when I left. She thought I was leaving because of her. I was leaving because I was getting older and it wasn’t right for me anymore.”
