Filmmaker Jamie Tierney is in southern France right now hanging out with the best surfers in the world and training his lens on the incredible surf sessions that are going down in between heats. Just because the comp is on hold don't think that there isn't a bit of swell around. In fact, when they're small to medium-sized, these waves are some of the best playgrounds in the world for the likes of Kelly Slater, Gabriel Medina, Miguel Pupo, John John Florence, and Filipe Toledo.

Jamie is capturing all the action on a Canon 70D with a 100-400mm lens. The most difficult part, according to him, is knowing where to shoot. "The big tidal shifts make sandbars appear and disappear really quickly," he says. "I'm also always trying to time my filming sessions for when the best guys were going to be out surfing."
