Maria Menounos is certainly a glass-half-full type of person, and her recent health scare might have brought her to her healthiest point yet.
The TV host tells Women’s Health magazine, “Would you believe me if I told you that the brain tumor is the best thing that ever happened to me? It freed me from all of that anxiety of having to be perfect.”
According to Us Magazine, the Maria underwent brain surgery in June to remove a benign tumor the size of a golf ball. She tells Women’s Health, “Before the brain tumor, I was super type A. I was on top of everything. I was everything to everyone, but nothing to myself. I didn’t know it at the time, but there was no self-compassion, no self-love, I didn’t think I deserved it.”
With a new outlook on life, Maria has been able to put life in a much better perspective, and most importantly, looked after herself for a change.
