On Tuesday, Us Magazine reported that Lorde has canceled a scheduled concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, after activists called for her to join a growing boycott over the country’s human rights record. The two time grammy winner said, "I've received an overwhelming number of messages and letters and have had a lot of discussions with people holding many views, and I think the right decision at this time is to cancel the show." The news comes a weeks after two Lorde fans, one of them Jewish and the other Palestine, to asking the singer to cancel her show in Israel, citing the government’s “policies of oppression."
