Amazon Shipped 5 Billion Items to Its Prime Customers in 2017 The e-commerce giant continues to roll, setting records for best "Prime Day," Cyber Monday and holiday season for last year. Amazon also added in a press release Tuesday that Dec. 30 was the biggest streaming day for the company's content business that includes Prime Video. TechCrunch reported that the number of new paid Prime members is at least more than 20 million. Amazon's own Fire TV Stick and Echo Dot topped the list of best-selling products purchased by Prime members in the US. Amazon's Prime service costs $99 a year or $10.99 per month and provides members with free two-day shipping on eligible purchases in the US, in addition to unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows with Prime Video, among other benefits.
