The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 34 people, including 11 children, were killed in an explosion in Idlib city on Sunday, January 7.

Local activists shared reports and video from the scene, saying emergency services were working to extract survivors from the rubble.

Opposition activists said the cause of the explosion was unknown, but Lebanese media said it was caused by a car bomb targeting a rebel faction.
