Passengers on the Norwegian Cruise Lines ship Breakaway were caught in the “bomb cyclone” weather front on return to Manhattan from the Bahamas last week. This video was shot by a passenger January 3-5 as the ship was approaching New York.
Kevin de Reus captured the footage and was one of the people aboard the ship, which departed on January 3, according to reports.
De Reus told Storyful: “The ship was constantly rocking and leaning from the strong winds. We saw some people sleeping in the hallways because of water leaking into their rooms from the balcony doors.”
De Reus also explained that although they were confident the ship would withstand the winter storm, some people chose to walk around with life jackets on.
