A bushfire that broke out in Mundaring blanketed the skies with smoke and rained ash down onto Perth on January 14, with residents describing the scene as “apocalyptic”.
ABC reported 150 Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters worked alongside volunteer bushfire brigades through the night to control the blaze that authorities were treating as suspicious.
Warnings issued for residents were downgraded after a change in the wind eased fire conditions, according to WA Today. The bushfire comes as ex-Tropical Cyclone Joyce was forecast to bring 80 millimetres of rain. Credit: instagram/eaudorangeverte via Storyful
