Celebrations for the annual Viking-themed Up Helly Aa festival began in the harbour town of Lerwick in Scotland’s Shetland Islands on Tuesday, January 30.
In a museum in the town, Vikings gathered to sing an altered version of the Black Eyed Peas ’I’ve Got a Feeling’ ahead of the night’s celebrations.
The fire festival marks the end of the yule season and to remember Viking heritage, with many participants dressing in traditional Viking garb. Credit: Instagram/clairenegrin via Storyful
