Sports Court Lifts Olympic Doping Ban Against 28 Russians The world's top sports court just overturned the athletes' lifetime Olympic bans. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled that there was "insufficient" evidence that the 28 athletes violated the anti-doping rules during the 2014 Sochi games. "With respect to these 28 athletes, the appeals are upheld, the sanctions annulled and their individual results achieved in Sochi 2014 are reinstated." CAS Statement The CAS dropped lifetime bans for 11 more Russian athletes, ruling they are ineligible from participating in this month's games.
