Hungarian police found 22 bulldogs, including several puppies which were only a few weeks old, in the car of two suspected animal smugglers on February 1.
According to police, the animals were found in a Citroen vehicle, which was driven by two Italian men. The dogs were being transported without no drinking water and food and were bought in Hungary for resale in Italy.
The men have been prosecuted for animal torture.
