Police held a press conference in Albert Terrace, Murray Bridge, on February 5, after a 57-year-old woman was found “brutally murdered” at about 8pm, February 4.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray told waiting media the woman suffered “significant injuries”, indicating she had been murdered.
He said a dog walker called police after seeing a man attempting to kick in a door, and the woman was discovered dead inside the house a short time later. Bray said the man is known to police and urged him, or friends, to contact police and “give himself up; it won’t go away.”
Police said they were “looking for a man aged 44 years, of Caucasian appearance, average build, balding, possibly with a rat’s tail. He was last seen wearing a faded red T-shirt and jeans. He has a tiger tattoo on his chest and a panther tattoo on the upper right arm.”
Bray said he could not comment on the manner of death or the pair’s relationship. SES volunteers were seen combing nearby bushland. Credit: SA Police News via Storyful
