Authorities in Utah announced on Thursday that vandals replaced an American flag with an ISIS flag at Hurricane High School.
In a news release, the Hurricane City Police Department noted that officers also "found graffiti on one wall of the school. The graffiti read 'ISIS IS COMI.'"
After the flags were swapped on the flagpole, "the American flag was left at the scene by the suspect(s) and was damaged."
The department notes that the ISIS flag has been removed and replaced with a new American flag. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect has not been identified yet.
Local police also say that "based on information we received from the FBI we do not believe this act was perpetrated by someone linked to the Islamic State."
