Joss Whedon has left 'Batgirl.'
In March 2017 Whedon came on to directed the Batgirl project.
But, he quit after a year of trying to develop the film.
Sources say Whedon could not figure out what a Batgirl movie should be.
Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn't have a story.
Whedon has been a controversial figure lately.
