The Australian Reptile Park has received its biggest male funnel web spider, naming the specimen “Colossus”.
In a video released on February 28, the animal sanctuary said the spider would become part of its venom program, which helps up to 300 bite victims each year.
It was captured on the New South Wales central coast.
A spokesman for the Park said: “The male funnel web was named Colossus because of its massive size and also comes with quite the temper with venom dripping constantly from his fangs when rearing up at staff.” Credit: Australian Reptile Park via Storyful
