KABUL: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday offered Pakistan to start government-to-government talks afresh.
At the second meeting of Kabul peace process, the Afghan president proposed: “We will be ready to start talks with Pakistan and forget the past and start a new chapter,” Afghan media reported.
The Kabul process, comprising representatives from 25 countries, is a platform to discuss counter-terrorism and conflict resolution strategies.
Reuters adds: the Afghan president offered recognition of Taliban insurgents as a legitimate political group as part of a proposed political process that could lead to talks aimed at ending more than 16 years of war.
