Former FBI Director James Comey took an apparent jab at President Trump in a Tuesday tweet. Comey shared a picture of himself sitting in front of recording equipment and wrote, "Lordy, this time there will be a tape. Audio book almost finished." The jab seems to be a reference to Trump's May tweet after he fired Comey, "James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!" While testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June, Comey said, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."
The president has since suggested he did not, in fact, record their conversations. Comey's book 'A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,' is scheduled for an April 17 release, notes The Hill.
