Lawmakers in a key committee in the state of Florida have approved a bill to allow schoolteachers to carry guns. The bill, which leaves it up to the discretion of individual school districts to decide whether to arm teachers, also has contains a $67 million program to train teachers in the use of firearms. According to opponents, the most controversial part of the bill is the "school marshal" program, which would arm up to 10 teachers with guns in a single school.
