Police in Fairfax, Virginia, said a man was hit by his own car after leaving the vehicle in drive while attempting to run from police on March 4.

Fairfax County Police released this footage, which they said was recorded after the man sped off when police tried to pull him over.

The video shows the man, identified in local reports as 30 year-old Isaac Bonsu, exiting his car as the vehicle continues to roll forward. He is seen running in front of the car before being struck by the vehicle.

The man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, his third such offence, police said. WLJA reported that the man also faced charges of hit-and-run, disregarding an officer’s signal to stop, driving with an open container, possession of marijuana, and illegal window tint.
