You can find these lizards in numerous places across AZ UT CO NM TX OK and more I believe so make sure to check out some range maps in google search to find the ones near you and try to look between the months of march and september because they hibernate the rest of the time usually but elevation and weather changes can effect this. The preferred habitat of Collareds is usually grass and scrub brush lands where they can sit on top of rock piles over looking there surroundings keeping an eye out for predators or herpers lol. They will normally let you get with in 5-10 feet of them and some cases closer before they take cover witch is usually is in the crack of the rock or a hole underneath it so the easiest way to catch them is going for the ones that hide in shallow cracks or on smaller rocks that can be pulled up like in this video just dont forget to watch out for those venomous snakes, have fun be safe.\r
