A small tornado formed over La Crau, a commune in France’s southeastern Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, on March 31, according to French media and numerous eyewitnesses.

The tornado reportedly formed near Toulon–Hyères Airport and lasted less than two minutes. No injuries or damage were reported.

The video of the phenomenon was captured by nine-year-old Gaetan Dolla, who can be heard laughing and speaking excitedly to his mother as he watches the tornado form. Gaetan’s mother, Maribelle Tessore, told Storyful her son is fascinated by tornadoes and wants to be a storm chaser. He was especially excited because tornadoes are rare in the south of France.
