In the third match of the 11th edition of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) in Eden Gardens was a sight to behold. With Dinesh Karthik leading the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the first time, won the toss and elected to field first. Virat Kohli had earlier stated that he won’t be opening for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and this decision somewhat paid off as Brendon McCullum gave RCB a rollicking start. But it was the partnership between Kohli and Ab De Villiers that steadied the RCB ship until the part time spinner got both Kohli and De Villiers in successive deliveries. It was the the seventh time in the last five editions of IPL that Kohli was dismissed by a spinner. Setting a target of 167 runs, KKR went off to a dream start courtesy the heroics of Sunil Narine. The southpaw clobbered the RCB attack in all corners of the park and brought up his fifty in just 17 balls. He became the only player in IPL to have two fifties in 17 or fewer balls. RCB were always playing catch up after that and it was an easy win for Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR boys.
Where do you think RCB lost the match?
