Congress fasts for peace after dalit violence; Rahul Gandhi reaches Rajghat

1984 anti-Sikh riots accused congress leaders Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler were asked to leave Rajghat by Ajay Maken. After questions were raised, Ajay Makan asked them to leave Rajghat. The Congress has called for a day's fast today at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial Rajghat in Delhi, in what the congress calls an attempt to "promote communal harmony" and to protest clashes during the Dalit protests on April 2. Rahul Gandhi has joined the fast. Rahul Gandhi has reached the fast venue. The BJP meanwhile has launched a scathing attack, claiming that congress along with SP and BSP have been fanning the dalit violence. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the BJP has been working to strengthen the SC/ST act but the Rahul Gandhi is opposing the government's work.
