After many delays and speculation the congress has finally announced the first candidate list for Karnataka assembly election. A total of 218 candidates' names have been announced. According to sources the delay was due to internal differences between senior party leaders and Siddaramaiah. At last it seems that the senior leaders got the upper hand as Siddaramaiah will not be contesting from Chamundeshwari seat. Meanwhile, Bengaluru has become the epicentre for the politics as with 28 seats the cyber city of the country alone makes 28% of the total Karnataka assembly seats.
