In a significant development India has lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over blocking Sikh Pilgrims' access to Indian diplomats and consular teams, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) said in a press release today. According to reports over 1800 sikh pilgrims from India had travelled to Pakistan last Thursday to celebrate Baisakhi festival at Gurdwara Panjab Sahib in Rawalpindi district. However but Pakistani authorities have repeatedly blocked the Indian high commission from performing basic consular and protocol duties for Indian citizens.
