Republican Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee said on Thursday that he's not sure if President Trump will seek re-election. When asked if he'd back Trump in 2020, the GOP senator told CNN's Alisyn Camerota, "Look, who knows whether President Trump's even going to run." Camerota pointed out that Trump has already said he plans to once again pursue the high office. "Any president that's 18 months into their term, or 15 or 16 or 17, whatever it is, is likely to say that they're going to run for reelection," Corker replied. "They do not want to be viewed as a lame duck. So I take it with a grain of salt, it's just another thing going across the internet." Corker is not alone in questioning Trump's political future. A late March CNN poll also suggests that Trump is on shaky ground, with 54% of respondents saying they do not foresee a Trump 2020 victory. That said, most people didn't see Trump's election victory coming last time. Also, at this point in Barack Obama's presidency, the majority of CNN poll participants didn't expect him to return for a second term.
