The police case investigating the tragic death of Prince has finally been closed.
At the age of 57, the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker passed away in April 2016 after suffering a fentanyl overdose at his home in Paisley Park, Minnesota. This was contained within counterfeit Vicodin that Prince had consumed.
But after two years of investigation, Minnesotan police couldn’t find any “reliable evidence” showing how Prince obtained the counterfeit Vicodin “or who else may have had a role in delivering it”.
But as Prince drifts away into cherished memory, we must not forget the opioid epidemic that is still ravaging the United States.
