He ended his spiritual journey while meditating, in a sitting position! "Aakhri darshan kar lo, bhai!". Last rites for a Hindu saint, as opposed to the traditional means. They surround the sadhu with salt to aid in rapid decomposition.
A shivling in a temple. People dig a pit in preparation for the final rituals of the departed sadhu. A mixture of ash is prepared to anoint the man of god, and off he goes... His eyes are swollen up and rigor mortis has set in. His followers take his clothes off and bathe the sadhu. Even kids join in to the ceremony. Then they protect his modesty with a loin cloth and rub ash onto him.
Not for people with a weak heart, this is real footage never seen before. The footage is of the final journey of a Hindu sadhu in Madhya Pradesh, India. His followers or family members rub his paste and then cover it with a cloth. This sadhu is being interred in a sitting position unlike common Hindus who are cremated. This is old footage and one can assume that the site must have become a place of worship by now.
