The shoot for Salman Khan and Kabir Khan’s next collaboration, Tubelight, started in July this year. Set in the backdrop of the Sino-Indian war of 1962, it is reported to be not a political saga, but a more human drama.

Although not much can be said about the plot or the casting yet, people have already started speculating about its box office performance. Salman Khan and Kabir Khan have collaborated twice before, in Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and both of these films became box office mega-hits.

Ek Tha Tiger grossed ₹308 crores worldwide and is currently the 14th highest grossing bollywood film of all time. Bajrangi Bhaijaan on the other hand, became the 3rd highest grossing bollywood film after grossing 626 crores, only behind PK and Bahubali: The Beginning. Whether Tubelight breaks these records or not, we shall find out.

But looking at Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it is safe to say that Tubelight will at least get a huge opening thanks to Salman and Kabir’s star record. Tubelight is set for release in Eid 2017
