Rossini's Barber has proven to be one of the greatest masterpieces of comedy within music, and has been described as the opera buffa of all "opere buffe". And to this day is proving to be a very popular piece of work.

It's also well known for featuring in a Looney Tunes episode where Bugs Bunny performs this overture
